Welcome to Casa da Luz. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Casa da Luz. Casa da Luz operates this website and online store, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services (the “Services”) to provide you with a curated shopping experience.

Our store is powered by Shopify, which enables us to offer and deliver the Services to you.

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our Services and your purchase of any products from Casa da Luz. By visiting our website, browsing, or purchasing from us, you agree to be bound by these Terms, together with any policies referenced within them, including our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.

We reserve the right to refuse service, suspend accounts, or cancel orders where fraudulent, abusive, or suspicious activity is suspected.

Accounts may not be transferred or sold to third parties.

SECTION 2 – NATURE OF OUR PRODUCTS

Casa da Luz products are handcrafted in small batches using artisanal techniques. Due to the handmade nature of our products:

  • slight variations in colour, texture, finish, shape or weight may occur

  • air bubbles, tonal variation or minor surface irregularities are natural characteristics of handcrafted materials such as Jesmonite, eco-resin or similar compounds

  • scent perception may vary depending on environment, room size, temperature, and individual sensitivity

  • colours shown on screen may differ due to device display settings

These characteristics are not considered defects but part of the unique nature of handmade products.

Refillable vessels are designed for reuse. Over time, natural wear may occur depending on handling and environment.

Casa da Luz does not guarantee that product appearance will be identical to images shown online.

All product descriptions may be updated or changed at any time without notice.

We reserve the right to limit quantities or discontinue products at any time.

SECTION 3 – PRODUCT USE AND SAFETY

By purchasing Casa da Luz products, you agree to follow all safety instructions provided with the product.

Candles and diffusers must be used responsibly.

Casa da Luz is not liable for damage, injury, or loss caused by misuse, including but not limited to:

  • failure to follow candle safety instructions

  • burning candles near flammable materials

  • leaving candles unattended

  • incorrect use of refill inserts

  • improper handling of hot wax or vessels

  • ingestion of diffuser oils

  • improper reed diffuser placement

  • use of products in unsafe environments

Customers are responsible for reading all CLP safety information provided with products.

Products must be kept out of reach of children and pets.

SECTION 4 – REFILL SYSTEM DISCLAIMER

Casa da Luz refill products are designed specifically for Casa da Luz vessels.

We are not responsible for damage caused by:

  • use of third party refills

  • use of Casa da Luz refills in non Casa da Luz containers

  • incorrect insertion or removal of refill components

  • modification of vessels

Customers assume responsibility for correct handling of refill products.

SECTION 5 – ORDERS

When placing an order, you are making an offer to purchase.

Casa da Luz reserves the right to:

  • refuse or cancel any order at our discretion

  • limit quantities purchased per customer

  • cancel orders suspected of resale without permission

  • cancel orders containing pricing or listing errors

Orders are only accepted once payment has been successfully processed.

We may contact you if we need to modify or cancel an order.

We are not obligated to accept cancellation requests once an order has been placed.

SECTION 6 – PRICING AND PAYMENT

All prices are listed in GBP (£).

Prices may change at any time without notice.

Prices do not include shipping fees, customs duties or taxes where applicable.

Customers are responsible for ensuring billing and payment details are accurate.

We reserve the right to refuse transactions where fraud is suspected.

Discount codes cannot be applied retroactively.

Promotional pricing may be time limited.

SECTION 7 – SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

Delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Casa da Luz is not responsible for delays caused by:

  • courier delays

  • customs processing

  • incorrect delivery address provided by customer

  • strikes or disruptions

  • weather conditions

  • circumstances beyond our control

Risk transfers to the customer once the order has been dispatched.

We are not liable for lost, stolen or delayed parcels once in possession of the courier.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping details.

If a parcel is returned due to incorrect address or failure to collect, reshipping costs must be paid by the customer.

SECTION 8 – RETURNS AND REFUNDS

Returns are accepted only in accordance with our Refund Policy.

Due to the handmade nature of our products:

  • minor variations are not considered faults

  • scent preference is subjective and not considered a defect

  • colour variation from screen display is not considered a defect

We reserve the right to refuse refunds where:

  • products have been used

  • products have been altered

  • safety seals have been removed where applicable

  • damage has been caused by misuse

  • claims are inconsistent with product condition

Proof of purchase is required for all claims.

SECTION 9 – INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All content belonging to Casa da Luz including but not limited to:

  • brand name

  • logo

  • product names

  • product concepts

  • vessel designs

  • refill system designs

  • photography

  • website design

  • written content

  • graphics

  • packaging design

is protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit any Casa da Luz content without written permission.

Unauthorized use may result in legal action.

SECTION 10 – THIRD PARTY SERVICES

We may provide access to tools or services operated by third parties.

We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or practices of third party providers.

Use of third party tools is at your own risk.

SECTION 11 – FEEDBACK AND REVIEWS

If you submit reviews, feedback or content, you grant Casa da Luz the right to use this content for marketing and business purposes.

We reserve the right to remove reviews that are:

  • misleading

  • defamatory

  • abusive

  • fraudulent

  • unrelated to the product purchased

  • damage caused by failure to follow safety instructions

Our liability shall not exceed the purchase price of the product.
