Casa da Luz was created around the idea that a beautiful candle shouldn’t become something you throw away once it’s finished, but also from a desire to create small moments of pause amidst the chaos of everyday life.

That feeling is considered throughout everything we do, from the vessels we make by hand and the fragrances we carefully test, to the way each order is packed and the moment it arrives in your home. We want Casa da Luz to become part of the everyday moments that make home feel like home, bringing warmth, atmosphere and a reason to slow down, even if only for a little while.

And when the candle is finished, the experience doesn’t have to end. Simply refill your vessel with a new scent or repurpose it around your home, allowing something beautiful to stay with you for longer.

We use a plant based blend of rapeseed and coconut wax, made in Europe using only rapeseed and coconut oils. Our wax is vegan friendly and free from paraffin, soy, palm, beeswax and synthetic additives.

Carefully selected for its performance in scented candles, each fragrance is tested with our wax to achieve the scent throw and burn we want from every Casa da Luz candle.

We believe that when you bring something beautiful into your home, you shouldn’t have to throw it away once the candle is finished. There should be a way to either refill it or give it a new purpose. That’s why our vessels are designed to stay.

Simply purchase a new candle refill and place it inside your original vessel, or repurpose your vessel around your home.

To refill: Once your candle is finished, place the vessel in the freezer or use hot water to gently release any remaining wax, then insert your new refill.

To repurpose: Clean your vessel and reuse it around your home for little everyday things, from jewellery and keepsakes to pens, brushes or anything else you’d like to keep close.
